Safety precautions for essential oils :
seven golden rules

Discover the 7 golden rules for using essential oils with 100% peace of mind.

Dosage essential oils

Strictly observe the dosages, precautions for use, length of treatment and administration route: these are active extracts which must be used with the utmost care. Always keep your essential oil in its original packaging, with the instruction leaflet, so that you can refer to it whenever you need.

Indication essential oils

Do not replace one essential oil with another if you are unfamiliar with it, even if their names are similar: for instance, true lavender and spike lavender have different indications, as do thyme thymol and thyme linalool, or ravensare and ravintsara...

wash hands essential oils

Always wash your hands thoroughly after using an essential oil.

Diffuse essential oils

Do not subject essential oils to intense heat (by placing a raised dish over a candle, for instance). Use a cold mist diffuser or ceramic gentle heat diffuser, or a mist humidifier.

precaution essential oils

Follow the instructions for use. A good number of essential oils are not permitted during pregnancy (especially the first trimester) and during breastfeeding. Similarly, some are not recommended for children under 7. In the event of kidney or liver problems, convulsive disorders, cardiovascular pathologies, persons subject to epilepsy or asthma and, in general, in the event of medical treatment or long-term disease, always seek the opinion of your family physician.

doctor essential oils

If you are being treated with medication, watch out for possible interactions with essential oils! Do not hesitate to ask your physician or pharmacist for advice.

What to do in the event of a problem?

Avoid all contact with the eyes and mucous membranes. Rinse immediately and thoroughly, preferably using plant oil (cooking or other oil), or if not available, rinse with clean water. Contact a physician or the poison center. Accidental ingestion Immediately contact the poison center.
