Atlas Cedar ( Cedrus atlantica ) is a large tree of the Pinaceae family, originally from North Africa (Moroccan Atlas).
This huge and imposing tree, 25 to 50 metres tall, thrives in the mountainous areas of the Moroccan Middle Atlas between 1500 and 2000 metres in altitude. This species has also been introduced into France, forming magnificent forests.
Main aromatic molecules: Sesquiterpenes (α-himachalene, β-himachalene and γ-himachalene), sesquiterpenones, (α-atlantone and γ-atlantone), sesquiterpenols (atlantol)
