In 2024, the support of the Puressentiel Foundation will provide access to drinking water for the population of the village of Koumandigou, in order to prevent recurring water-borne diseases in children, by drilling a borehole 75 metres deep and installing a human-powered pump. Maintenance will be monitored by a borehole management committee set up and trained during the project.

The village of Koumandigou (40 families or around 250 people, most of them children) has no borehole or well. Drinking water is taken from streams, which are also used by livestock. This water is often turbid and smells bad. As the inhabitants do not filter the water, water-borne diseases are endemic in the village (bilharzia, diarrhoea, cholera, etc.).
The watercourses dry up in the dry season from January to June, when people have to walk 3km to get their water.

Aromathérapie Sans Frontières is helping to improve access to healthcare for vulnerable populations in this country with poor health coverage by using traditional medicines, including aromatic medicine, combined with allopathic medicine with the full agreement of the health authorities.

A dispensary was opened in 2014 in Antsirabé, the country's third largest city, to monitor the health of children in public schools and surrounding families.
The association has opened infirmaries in public primary schools to accommodate 900 pupils. In 2023, it treated more than 3,000 children, thanks to the support of the Puressentiel Foundation.
In 2024, the Puressentiel Foundation is taking concrete action by ensuring a decent annual salary for the dispensary's doctors and employees. It will also guarantee the smooth running and maintenance of the dispensary.

In 2024, the support of the Puressentiel Foundation will make access to healthcare (alternative medicine) for vulnerable populations sustainable and autonomous. This involves financing the first promotion of a training school in acupuncture and natural healthcare techniques and setting up a pilot dispensary at the Moeung Russei hospital in Cambodia (Battanbang Province).
In 2024, this will be the 3rd and final year of training for the 1st promotion. This is a pivotal moment, decisive for validating the work they began in 2018, and which will launch the new practitioners into the field.
To achieve this, Les Mains du Cœur Pour Le Cambodge will provide follow-up throughout the year, with 2 final training sessions and 2 field missions (treating patients in hospitals or dispensaries).
The graduation ceremony will be accompanied by the launch of the pilot dispensary within the Moeung Russei hospital, a challenge that will also enable the project to be replicated in other hospitals...

In 2024, the "Sport in spite of illness" project, supported by the Puressentiel Foundation, will provide 180 sessions of adapted physical activity to (re)get children with cancer moving while they are in hospital at the Arnaud de Villeneuve Hospital in Montpellier, Occitanie region, throughout the year, as well as a multi-activity day for sick children in French Polynesia at the outpatient centre in Bora Bora, French Polynesia.
In French Polynesia, as the sick children are not treated locally but in mainland France, the support consists of organising full days in the community for children from all over the country.
The approach developed by Sourire A La Vie is unique. It is the first association to have introduced sport and the tools of top-level sport into hospitals for sick children, in the midst of treatment, before and after surgery.
This programme prepares young patients for the trials and tribulations of treatment, and improves clinical observation by giving doctors precise information about their physical condition, recovery and rehabilitation during major surgery, etc.

In 2024, the Puressentiel Foundation is supporting the "Même pas mal" project: an initiative aimed at parents and nursing staff which aims to improve the well-being and relieve the pain of children in hospital through the use of distraction methods during treatment. Through this initiative, Tout le monde contre le cancer aims to improve the well-being of children hospitalised in oncohaematology departments in 15 hospitals across France.
In practical terms, the aim is to provide those involved in the day-to-day running of the hospital (nursing staff and parents alike) with tools for implementing a pain management strategy. The initiative has two components:

• Training;
• Provision of a toolbox.

The main aim of this project is to enable children hospitalised in the onco-haematology department to experience less pain by creating a virtuous circle of serenity during their hospitalisation.
