Immerse yourself in a treatment bath with essential oils
THE BATH, A DOUBLE ACTION FOR ESSENTIAL OILS
Thanks to the heat of the water, the pores of the skin dilate, which favours a perfect penetration of the active ingredients through the epidermis.
At the same time, the hot water vapours are loaded with essential oils. This allows them to be diffused via the respiratory system, like an inhalation...
WHICH ESSENTIAL OILS TO USE IN THE BATH, AND FOR WHAT PURPOSE?
Just indulge yourself with a relaxing bath:
geranium, true lavender, petitgrain bigarade, incense, ylang-ylang, green mandarin, sweet orange, grapefruit.
To refresh (and prevent heavy legs):
Pistachio, cypress, myrtle.
To relax and promote sleep:
True lavender, roman chamomile, sweet orange, petitgrain bigarade, Asian rosewood, green mandarin, lemongrass.
To chase away colds and clear the respiratory tract:
Eucalyptus radiata, eucalyptus globulus, Siberian fir, tea tree, thyme linalool, ravintsara.
To relieve muscle soreness:
wintergreen, rosemary camphor, lemon eucalyptus, lavandin super, spike lavender.
To promote drainage and toning:
lemon, green mandarin, grapefruit, niaouli, camphor rosemary, ylang-ylang, Atlas cedar, juniper.
To fill up on energy:
Scots pine, rosemary cineole.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I USE?
For a large bathtub, count 10 drops maximum depending on the essential oils, or a mixture of these, diluted in 1 tablespoon of neutral bath and shower base (half as much for a small bathtub).
HAND AND FOOT BATHS
They are very useful, especially for relieving joint pain (in a hot, relaxing bath) and for blood circulation problems (foot bath, cool in this case!). Use only 4 drops of essential oil, diluted in vegetable oil or in a neutral base.
JOINTS:
juniper, wintergreen, rosemary camphor, lemon eucalyptus.
CIRCULATION:
mastic tree, cypress, myrtle, helichrysum, peppermint.
THE "DERMO-BALNEO"
By mixing vegetable and essential oils, you moisturise, repair and embellish your skin.
Ideal as an after-sun repair treatment: 1 tablespoon of sweet almond vegetable oil* + 1 tablespoon of rose hip vegetable oil* + 10 drops of real lavender (or geranium) essential oil + 10 drops of ylang-ylang (or Asian rosewood) essential oil.
*Caution: vegetable oils
Caution: vegetable oils make the bathtub very slippery!
3 TIPS FOR USING ESSENTIAL OILS IN THE BATH
→ Select your essential oils carefully.
Don't use just any oils! Start by checking that they are tolerated by your skin and respiratory tract.
→ Do not pour them directly into the bath
Essential oils do not mix with water (they are not water-soluble). Pour them into 1 tablespoon of neutral bath and shower base (or 1 tablespoon of skimmed milk), and stir the water well to obtain an even diffusion.
→ Do not rinse before coming out of the bath
The essential oils will continue to act. To dry yourself, gently and delicately dab your body with a towel.
