Rosemary Verbenone (Rosmarinus officinalis verbenoniferum)

This 1 to 1.5 metre high sub-shrub, originally from Corsica, has spread to Spain and also flourishes in North Africa. Rosemary grows particularly around the Mediterranean, where it likes sunny exposures with marked summer drought.


Main aromatic molecules: Monoterpenones (verbenone, camphor), monoterpenes, terpene oxides (1,8-cineole or eucalyptol), monoterpenols (borneol), terpene esters (bornyl acetate).
Family: Lamiaceae.
Producing organs: Flowering aerial parts
