6 Benefits and uses for Tea tree essential oil

Tea-tree is a flowering plant of the Myrtaceae family. It looks like a tree with white flowers. It can be found in the wild in Australia. The tea tree essential oil is mainly known for its key properties: anti-bacterial, anti-mycosis, anti-viral, anti-parasite, antiseptic, immune system stimulant, physical tonic. Originating in Australia, this large evergreen leafy shrub, completely unrelated to the famed beverage despite the misleading name, was discovered by naturalists who travelled with Cook in his trip down the Endeavour River (1772-1775). They gave it this name because they used it as a substitute for tea, deeming it fragrant and reinvigorating.

We love it because... Ultra-effective multi-purpose antiseptic, the tea tree is one of the "basics" of the family pharmacy. Especially since its remarkable effectiveness is associated with excellent safety of use: it is devoid of toxicity. Do not hesitate to use it on sores as in the case of more delicate infections.

WHAT ARE THE KEY PROPERTIES OF TEA TREE OIL?

A powerful anti-infection, anti-bacterial and antifungal agent, tea tree essential oil is also anti-viral (flu, etc.) and is a strong immuno-stimulant.

HEADLICE: THE EFFECTIVE RECEIPE!

Apply the mixture of 25 drops of tea tree essential oil + 25 drops of lavandin essential oil in 100 ml of sweet almond oil. Spread half of the mixture on damp hair, just before shampooing, then comb through wet hair and dump the rest of the mixture onto the scalp. Comb through the hair again, part by part, from the scalp to the ends of the hair, starting at the forehead and working down to the nape of the neck. Wrap the towel-dried hair in plastic wrap and leave in place for 2 hours. Rinse, make 2 shampoos, rinse again abundantly. Run an anti-slow comb to make sure you get rid of everything. Repeat this treatment 7 days later to eradicate any nits or lice that may have "survived".

HOUSEHOLD DISINFECTANT AND DEODORANT

In a 50 ml opaque glass bottle (preferably brown) with a pourer, mix 1 teaspoon of tea tree essential oil, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon essential oil, 1 teaspoon of pine and 4 teaspoons of lemon essential oil. Shake before using it. Apply a few drops on a sponge or poured directly onto the affected area (siphon, toilet bowl, etc.). For a stronger "deodorizing" effect, fill a small household alcohol spray (which you can find in liters in supermarkets, it also works well in white vinegar), add a few drops of your mixture to the essential oils and spray all over the room.

SKIN DISORDERS

Apply a few drops to the attacked or infected skin, pure (if small surface area) or mixed with sweet almond (attacked skin) or calophyll (infected skin) vegetable oil (if large skin surface area).

MOSQUITO REPELLENT

Diffuse lemongrass essential oil into the air or spray it directly on clothes, tablecloths. You can also use a mixture of 10 drops of each of these essential oils: tea tree, basil, lemongrass, geranium, clove.

MYCOSES

Fungal infections are infections caused by fungi or yeasts. Many essential oils are antifungal: tea tree, Ceylon cinnamon, geranium, noble laurel, lavender aspic, niaouli, oregano, palmarosa, linalool thyme, etc...

TRANSPIRATION

It is the production of sweat by the sweat glands, whose evaporation causes local cooling. Bactericidal, fungicidal and deodorizing essential oils are preferable to chemical deodorants: tea tree, lemon, cistus, cypress or palmarosa.

Precautions for use:  Though well-tolerated, it is best to dilute tea tree essential oil in a plant oil before applying it to the skin. Not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women, children under 7, persons with a renal condition, persons allergic to one of the components (limonene), asthmatics unless otherwise recommended by an allergist, epilepsy patients, or those with a medical history of convulsive disorders. Always seek the advice of a pharmacist before use.
