How to take care of your nails naturally?
Yellowed, split, brittle, soft? Damaged nails are common, but often easily remedied. Here are some recipes to help you take good care of your nails naturally, all thanks to aromatherapy.
How to harden nails effectively?
Nails contain 18% water on average, and become brittle if that number dips below 16%, revealing a deficiency in iron, zinc and vitamin B. But until we know the cause of the problem, our best course of action is to treat the symptoms..
Recipes for stronger nails than ever:
- A solution for brittle, soft or split nails
Dilute 2 drops of Atlas cedar essential oil and 1 drop of Myrtle essential oil in 2 drops of castor and argan vegetable oils. Apply by massaging the cuticles and nails with a small brush, every evening for 6 weeks for optimum effect. Suitable from 15 years+.
- A strengthening balm for the nails
Dilute 3 drops of Lemon essential oil (or 2 drops of Ccarrot oil and 1 drop of Lemon oil) in 2 drops of Sweet Almond vegetable oil and gently massage it into the nails. The use of Lemon essential oil is recommended from 15 years +.
How to whiten nails naturally?
Nails are made of a protein called keratin. They are usually translucent, slightly pink, but can sometimes turn yellow. Our natural recipe can help you to reduce this yellow colour.
A recipe for beautiful white nails
- Mix 1 drop of Lemon essential oil, 1 drop of Castor vegetable oil and 1 drop of Argan vegetable oil. Apply the mixture to yellow nails every night before bed for 3 weeks. The use of Lemon essential oil is recommended from 15 years +.
Castor vegetable oil reinforces the nails, eyelashes and hair. Very dense, it’s a beauty treatment with amazing virtues that has been used for thousands of years: Cleopatra used it as a make-up remover! It strengthens and hardens the nails, softens the nail cuticles and accelerates the growth of eyelashes, eyebrows, hair and nails.
How to improve nail growth?
Dr. Franck Gigon, Nutritionist Doctor, recommends the following synergy to help your nails grow and strengthen:
Mix 1 drop of Atlas Cedar essential oil + 1 drop of Rosemary Camphor or Cineole essential oil + 2 drops of Castor oil. Apply every other evening by massaging the cuticles and nails. Use for 3 months.
Do not use Rosemary Camphor or Rosemary Cineole essential oils in case of cardiovascular disorders (high blood pressure, heart arrhythmia).
