Meet our Atlas Cedar producer
For several years now, Puressentiel has been sourcing organic Atlas cedar essential oil as part of a long-term partnership with the supply chain developed by Robertet Bio and its Moroccan partner, Rachidi Aromes.
For over thirty years, Rachidi Aromes has been promoting Morocco’s aromatic and medicinal plants through the production of essential oils that combine tradition and innovation.
A pioneering family-run business, it was one of the first in the country to obtain organic certification as early as 1996.
Based in Kenitra and Azrou, close to the harvesting areas, it controls the entire production chain to guarantee consistent quality and full traceability.
A majestic conifer that can grow to a height of nearly 50 metres, the Atlas cedar grows naturally at altitudes of between 1,500 and 2,000 metres in the Middle Atlas Mountains.
A symbol of Morocco’s natural heritage, it is renowned for the exceptional aromatic richness of its wood. The essential oil is obtained by distilling sawdust and wood shavings from the timber industry – a process that makes use of by-products, helping to preserve this forest resource whilst giving a new lease of life to material that has already been harvested.
Respect for the environment lies at the heart of Rachidi Aromes’ practices. The company cultivates organic crops across several hundred hectares and invests in renewable energy to minimise its environmental impact.
This commitment is also reflected in its Fair For Life initiative, which recognises the work of producers and supports the development of local communities.
