Meet our Thujanol Thyme producer

Based in the heart of the Gâtinais Français Nature Reserve, the Milly PPAM Cooperative brings together around thirty passionate producers united by a common goal: to keep alive the historic industry of perfume, aromatic and medicinal plants in the Milly-la-Forêt area.
Founded in 2018, it operates on a cooperative model based on mutual support, the passing on of expertise and the promotion of a unique agricultural heritage.

The organic thujanol thyme grown by the Milly PPAM Cooperative comes from a cultivar identified by the Conservatoire des Plantes and selected for its excellent adaptation to local soil and climate conditions.
Benefiting from a particularly favourable microclimate, this plant develops its full aromatic richness in a region that has been renowned for centuries for the cultivation of medicinal plants

Each year, the Cooperative cultivates and distils around ten varieties of aromatic plants across nearly 300 hectares.
Organic farming, soil conservation, mechanical and manual weeding, and the protection of biodiversity guide the producers’ practices. This commitment helps to preserve soil fertility and protect a rich and sustainable biodiversity.
Every batch is fully traceable, from the plot of land right through to the essential oil.

Since 2019, Puressentiel has been supporting the Milly PPAM Cooperative in the development of this French sector.
For organic thujanol thyme, a seven-year purchase contract – corresponding to the plant’s life cycle – guarantees fair remuneration, economic security for producers and consistent quality.
Puressentiel purchases around 100 kilos of essential oils Puressentiel every year for two plant varieties.
This partnership reflects a shared vision: to build a local supply chain that is more sustainable and responsible, for the benefit of producers, local communities and consumers.
