Stuart Bateman, Directeur d’Oribi Oils et originaire du Cap, est l'un des premiers à avoir fait pousser, en Afrique du Sud,
cet arbuste originaire d’Australie.
Installé ici depuis 2007, il nous fait découvrir sa coopérative agricole, certifiée bio et équitable. En effet, le fonds de commerce équitable soutient directement le développement des micro-entreprises, à savoir la création d'emplois ou d'opportunités entrepreneuriales pour les
populations zouloues. Ils soutiennent également les programmes d'alimentation scolaire.

Based on the guidelines of sustainable and inclusive development, our partner's
project aims to create employment opportunities in the tribal areas of
KwaNyuswa and to improve working conditions on the commercial farms
involved in our project.
The funds generated by the sale of Tee Tree essential oil help these women and
men with their farming activities and harvests by subsidising plant nutrition
costs, covering transport costs to the distillery and distillation costs, as well as
other social projects, and improving the living conditions of farm workers
through vouchers for food and clothing, or cash that can be spent on school fees, home improvements and other family needs.

Strongly anti-infectious, antibacterial and antifungal, Tea Tree essential oil is also antiviral (flu...). It also has a strong immunomodulating effect. It also treats infections of the mouth (mouth ulcers and gingivitis), ear, nose and throat (ENT) and digestive system.
Traditionally used for all skin ailments, to combat parasites (including lice) and fungal infections, it is also a tonic and venous decongestant.
