Which essential oils are essential in the summer and why?

Summer is finally here, and so are the hassles of everyday life. In this article, we offer different solutions to soothe sunburn and heavy legs, treat dry hair, avoid and relieve insect bites, and calm motion sickness. And all this naturally, thanks to essential oils.

Sunburn

NiaouliNiaouli has healing properties, it protects and restores the skin (even after a radiotherapy session with aloe vera gel).

How to use? Dilute 2 drops of niaouli essential oil in 10 drops of rose hip or hemp seed oil, and apply this mixture to the area to be treated, 3 times a day, until healed. 7 years and older Superficial burns.


Lavender Aspic:
Antipruritic, anti-infectious and extremely healing, it relieves all stings (insects, jellyfish, etc.) and sunburns.

 

How to use? Immediately apply 3 to 6 drops of pure essential oil of lavender aspic to the injured area every 15 seconds for 2 minutes, then every 15 minutes for 2 hours. Then 3 or 4 times a day until healed. 12 years and over Superficial burns.

 



Dry hair

Tailor-made shampoo for dry hair: Dry hair can be recognised by its hay-like appearance. The hair scales spread out and intercept light, making it dull.

How do you treat it? Add a few drops of the following essential oils: roman chamomile, rose geranium, lavender, rosemary, sandalwood, sage, ylang ylang.

For 10 ml of shampoo = 3 to 5 drops of essential oil.
For 100 ml of shampoo = 35 drops of EO = 1 ml of EO. That is to say in total a 1% dilution.

An invigorating shampoo: Add 2 drops of cade or linalool thyme or ylang ylang essential oil to your usual dose of shampoo.

 

Ylang-Ylang : It is an excellent skin and hair conditioner. It improves the condition of dull, lifeless skin or damaged hair.
How to use it? In a 30ml opaque glass bottle: 20 drops of ylang -ylang essential oil + 5 drops of rosemary camphor essential oil + 5 drops of lemongrass essential oil + 5 drops of Atlas cedar essential oil + 1 teaspoon of castor vegetable oil and complete with argan vegetable oil Apply a little of this mixture by gently massaging it into the scalp and generously onto the lengths and ends of the hair, leavelet rest on for 20 minutes and then wash theyour hair. Ageds 12+.

Insect bites 

Sweet orange: As well as being an aAir freshener, it also calms wasp, bee or insect bites, and fights against skin slackening.
How can it be used? To relieve insect bites: Put 1 drop of sweet orange oil directly on the stingbite (do not avoid sun exposure expose to the sun afterwards). 7 years and older.

Java citronella: It is, above all, a natural mosquito repellent, and is often planted for this purpose around houses. It also relieves bites, is anti-infectious, antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory, and can be used against ENT infections (e.g. angina, aphonia).
How?
➔ To soothe insect bites: 1 drop of Java citronellaLemongrass essential oil + 2 drops of St. John's wort or black cumin vegetable oil (if exposed to the sun afterwards) to put on the pimple. 7 years and older.
➔ To keep insects away: Diffuse, using a diffuser, 30 drops of Java citronellaLemongrass essential oil into the air. 7 years and older.

Lavender Aspic: Antipruritic, anti-infectious and extremely healing, it relieves all stingsstings (insects, jellyfish, etc.).
How to use? Apply 3 to 4 drops of lavender aspic essential oil, three to four times a day. For children, dilute 1 drop.

Heavy legs

Cypress Nearly eighteen million French people suffer from chronic venous insufficiency, the main symptom of which is a painful feeling of heaviness in the legs, due to a poor return of blood to the heart. The problem is insidious: it is aggravated by a sedentary lifestyle, excess weight and pregnancy. Among the most effective essential oils forto improveing circulation are cypress, which is a venous tonic, lymphatic drainer, anti-inflammatory and has disinfiltrating properties, and helichrysum, which relieves pain and strengthens the quality of blood vessels.
How can it be used? Heavy legs, haemorrhoids and varicose veins: 5 drops of cypress essential oil + 5 drops of calophylla vegetable oil + 10 drops of macadamia vegetable oil applied locally or by gently massaging the legs (from the bottom to the top, from the ankle to the knee). Adult - Circulation disorders.

Pistacia Lentiscus: Decongestant of the venous and lymphatic systems, the essential oil of Pistacia Lentiscus essential oil treats varicose veins, congestions and venous stasis, phlebitis and haemorrhoids.
How to use it? Mix 5 drops of mastic tree essential oil with 20 drops of calophylla and macadamia vegetable oils in equal parts. Apply every morning and evening to the affected areas. Adult - Heavy legs and Varicose veins.

Myrtle: Antiseptic and astringent, myrtle essential oil treats digestive, pulmonary and urinary disorders, but also varicose veins or haemorrhoids and heavy legs.
How to use? Apply locally without massaging a few drops of a mixture of 3 to 4 drops of myrtle essential oil diluted in 10 drops of calophylla vegetable oil locally, without massaging. Aged 15 years and older.

Motion sickness

Peppermint: Effective against digestive disorders (indigestion, vomiting, nausea, motion sickness, acid reflux), it is also invigorating for the body and mind, antispasmodic and very analgesic.
