How to choose the right essential oil diffuser?
Essential oils are sensitive and should not be heated, otherwise they lose their virtues and release toxic volatile compounds. It is therefore advisable to diffuse them cold or with gently heated. Several types of diffusers are available, but how do you choose THE right device?
Nebulisation, misting, gentle heat, ventilation: all the methods have their own specificities and benefits, but you must choose a method of diffusion according to the size of the room in which you will diffuse essential oils.
If possible, choose a timer system set to stop after one hour and an alternate diffusion mode.
For a 50 to 120 square meter room | Nebulisation diffuser |
For a 30 square meter room Misting | Misting humidification diffuser |
For a 20 square meter room | Gentle heat or misting diffuser |
For a 10 square meter room or smaller | Ventilation diffuser, made of ceramic or wood |
THE HUMIDIFYING ESSENTIAL OIL DIFFUSER
IDEAL FOR DRY ATMOSPHERES
Do you feel that your skin is drying out and that your respiratory mucous membranes are weakened (cough, dry throat, irritated eyes, blocked nose)? One of the rooms in your home is probably too dry. You should know that the ideal humidity level at home is between 40% and 60%.
Opt for humidifier diffusers or misters, as they will diffuse a light water mist in the air and help improve the comfort of the respiratory tract. You can add a few drops of essential oil (e.g. true lavender in the bedrooms, or Scots pine in winter, depending on the age of your children) to lightly perfume or purify.
Silent and easy to use, it is the best choice to humidify the air in case of electric heating*, living in the mountains, or for the children's bedroom, while also creating a pleasant atmosphere in medium-sized rooms.
